About us as an organization

IT-Lagune e.V. is a German not-for-profit organization. Our name translates to "IT Lagoon" and "IT" means information technology here. We focus on the emerging IT, tech and StartUp community in Western Pomerania around the Stralsund - Greifswald cluster.

" Lagoon " is a reference to the predominant beautiful lagoon landscapes of Western Pomerania (Vorpommern). Some of these are protected in the Western Pomerania Lagoon Area National Park , just west of the world heritage city of Stralsund .
We're in the northeast of Germany at the southern Baltic Sea coast, but in the heart of Europe. The Hanseatic League flourished in our region and we're here to carry on with this open-minded, powerful and innovative tradition of doing business!

What we do

We're pushing the IT in pomerania and the world beyond current limits! We're not just shooting the breeze, but actually make ideas and visions come true! For this purpose we have many great projects and events in our pipeline.

IT Lagoon - Providing sunny times for Vorpommern!

Where we started

Our kickoff meeting was on July 3, 2012 . That day we met for a first Get-Together following our successful IT Fair called "VITA" at the University of Applied Sciences Stralsund .
On December 4, 2012 , we established the NPO (Nonprofit organization) for our IT Lagoon with a powerful team.
From now on we're performing in public and advance the IT in Vorpommern and the world!
Since our foundation day, we already attracted more than 30 members and supporters.

Quite a relaxed looking bunch of people, huh? ;)
